Mali
As Mali holds a peace and reconciliation forum, a new explosion hit North of the country on Monday killing two servicemen.
According to military and security sources, two Malian servicemen were killed and two others wounded in the explosion in the region of Timbuktu.
The security source added that the machine which exploded and damaged their vehicle weighed more than ten kilograms.
A long awaited Peace and Reconciliation Forum was held in Kidal, region of the country on Monday. But the Malian government and the pro-government armed groups were not in attendance during the opening ceremony.
They had requested for a postponement of the function.
North of Mali became an unstable zone since March 2012 as a result of the inability of the army to overcome the rebellion of the Tuareg dominance, supported by the terrorist militant group, Al-Qaeda.
In spite of an international military intervention initiated by France in 2013 and the signature at the middle of 2015 of a peace agreement between government and ex-rebellion, the jihadists continue to control the whole zones.
